Pat O’Donnell & Co at Ireland Skills Live – RDS 2019
Ireland Skills Live is an event that focuses on the opportunities available to students and young people thinking of taking up a skills-based career or apprenticeship.
In the first stage competitors have to tackle active diagnostics, inspecting and overhauling a starter motor and build a starting circuit to test the starting motor.
Stage two involves electrical and hydraulic fact finding. In Stage three participants are tested on their knowledge of hydraulics. They have to overhaul steering components and test and overhaul a hydraulic pump. The fourth and final stage participants will deal with engine rebuilds, measuring components, stripping down and engine and removing pistons, remove the injector pump and camshaft and carry out measurements. They then have to retime the engine and carry out a compression test.
Also from Pat O’Donnell & Co. was our Health and Safety Manager Keith O’Shaughnessy who was awarded the role of an examiner for one of the four Construction Plant modules which is a testament to Keith’s knowledge and expertise in the Construction Plant Industry. Keith is also involved with the development of the new construction plant fitting (CPF) syllabus in conjunction with SOLAS, ETB and CIT.
We would like to congratulate Liam on a great effort in the Skills Competition where he finished runner-up after a tough three days.
We are always accepting applications for apprentices. Please click email email@example.com with a CV and cover letter to apply.
